The man is a legend and I was surprised to see Allen Iverson give him a shout out during his number retirement last night. And as soon as he announced......."i want to give a shout out to Howard Eskin" the crowd just started booing I mean the man is so good at what he does and had the best show on radio until his 3pm slot was taken away from him a few years ago.

I mean the man was only rude to people who didn't know anything about sports so I just don't get the hate

Eskin comes off as being arrogant to a lot of people, but love em or hate em, he knows his stuff. I remember the old days when he shared a radio show with Mike Missanellii. Those were the days.

I listened to his show everyday and I recall only being ignorant to stupid callers

No, he was usually only arrogant with callers who disagreed with him ... He's more likable now that he's toned it down.

Me too. He does fill-in work on some national radio shows from time to time now.

When was that? I remember Mike with Steve Fredericks at WIP in the old days, and they sure were the good old days. I don't remember Eskin sharing a spot until that awful pairing with Ike Reese. I can't even imagine an Eskin/Missanelli combo. Remember how bad it was when he was co-hosting on ESPN with Stephen A. Smith? LOL! Clash of the egos.

I never liked Eskin's personality, he seemed to sneer at every caller right from the start of the call. And then God forbid if you disagreed with him. Mike is not like that to his callers, and I was thrilled when he came back to Philly in Eskin's time slot.

Mike and Edskin in the afternoon was very akward and brief. Just imagine two hot heads.

Only callers who took a long time to make a point or the ones who would stutter on live radio. Lol

He had no choice but to hang on them. And I believe if you have a stuttering problem you should not be calling a talk radio station
