Hello!

Moving from the West Coast to NSQ because of work. Taking my 9-year old boy with me. I'd like to ask the following:

1) Are there any good rental properties for about $1,600 in the Newtown Square area? Preferably 2BR.
2) How are the public schools in the area. So far I've googled Culbertson. Any feedback on that school or other places you could recommend?
3) How's getting around the area like? Public Transportation ok?

Thank you very much and let me know if you need more information.

Newtown square is marple newtown school district which is perfectly fine. There are better districts in the area but you will probably pay a bit of a premium for rentals in that area. Probably not worth the upgrade unless you're really, really focused on education.

Rental prices I can't comment on, but a perusal through craigslist, zillow, realtor.com will tell you if there's something in your price range. $1600 sounds reasonable though- if there are more expensive 2BR properties it won't be by much.

Public transportation is not good. There's a couple of buses that run through it that will take you into the city or further out to the outer suburbs, but these are not that frequent and won't take you most of the places you probably want to go. You want to live here, you'll have to drive.

I agree with everything the above poster said. There are trains nearby, though not in Newtown Square.

You may want to check out the Media area. Better access to public transit, better schools.

10-20 minutes to all the corporate parks in Newtown Square.
