My husband's job will be transferring him near Philadelphia or Coatsville. We are looking for a New Homes Sub Division with homes costing about $400,000 My husband and I are both native New Yorkers currently living in a "hick town" outside of Richmond VA. We love the feel of a good suburban neighborhood with alot of trees and rolling hills but we would like to be within 30 minutes of shopping, restaurants and good pizza and bagel shops. (Where we live now the major attraction is Walmart). We don't have a clue as to where to begin our search. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks
Linda

The West Chester area would be a good start. Its about 20-25 miles west of Philly and 15-20 miles east of Coatesville so the commute wont be that bad and still puts you in an area with lots of great shopping and tons of people around.

Coatesville is probably similar to where you are now. Its out there by Philly standards.

Other towns that would work, being that they are somewhat close to Coatesville, are Exton, Downingtown, Uwchland Township and Malvern.

New housing developments as far as the eye can see in this general vacinity.

Good luck this is a very nice area.

I would also check out Plymouth Meeting. It's in Montgomery County.
