Would I be out of my mind to make a commute from Horsham/northern Phili area to Wilmington, DE?

Keep in mind, it would only be a couple days a week (24 hour shifts). Do I have any options for public transportation?

There is a SEPTA stop for the R2 train in Willow Grove, near Horsham. The R2, I believe goes all the way to Wilmington, DE. But, you'll most likely have to stop and wait at 30th street station for a little while. The whole commute may last more than an hour. These trains tend to move very slowly...

You can take amtrak from 30th station as well- but it gets expensive for that little 20 minute trip!

Either way, seems like a long commute to me!

It isn't a real bad drive. Pick up the PA Turnpike West at Willow Grove, Take 476 South onto I-95 South.

Agreed - not a terrible drive a couple of times a week.

It's not a horrible drive, traffic isn't super bad on 95.

On the R2 line it would be about 90 minutes from Horsham to Wilmington, not counting a possible change of trains downtown. But for twice a week, it can probably be endured.

Default word of caution

Um, also, make sure when you move here, no one hears you refer to the suburbs around Horsham as "northern Philly."

Big difference. Big.

North Philly is an area of Philly that's basically a bombed-out crime-ridden slum. However, the northernmost part of Philly is actually Northeast Philly, which has both good and bad areas.

You might instead say the "northern suburbs" or "the Bucks-Montgomery suburbs."
