I can understand if you prefer your partner have this skill. I do too. But I don't think it's "comical" that my SO can't sew a button a shirt but I can. We have different skills.
You're trying to pin me into saying it's gender specific. Not gonna happen. Cooking is a daily skill sewing is not.

Okay, I guess we just have different senses of humor. I don't find it funny when people of any gender can't or don't enjoy cooking, it's just their thing.

You're the one bemoaning the demise of wrestling programs. Do you miss watching mens' wrestling, is that it?

(Not that there's anything wrong with that)

Not really. In todays world its easier to get take out or pop something in the microwave than it is to find a seamstress or sew something yourself.

I do notice a lot more young men and a lot less young women cook than in my generation. But cooking is not really a necessity. Some people like cooking and some don't.

I'm wondering how much religion plays a role in "old fashion" thinking. Perhaps because I'm in the belt. I was conversating with my 21 yr. old nephew last night and the topic came up. He was telling me how many of the "older" guys at his job (~35yrs old) felt it was the woman's place to keep the home and the mans to bring in the paycheck. One guy married an engineer making good money and had her quit her job to stay home and cook and clean and take care of kids while he worked making 20K in a chicken factory because that's what the bible says to do.

It was just a point being made on male centered sports that don't bring huge ncaa revenue being axed in favor of equal participation. Why the focus on a small point about guys wrestling in a post of many points? What's your fixation with dudes wresting man?

The complaint about bumbling husbands in the media is an odd one. Shows I watch/ed include Game of Thrones, Banshee, Walking Dead, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., Breaking Bad, Dexter, Lost, all the Star Treks, Stargate, Sopranos, American Horror Story ...

Turn off the Simpsons if you're sick of dumb husbands.

I wish I could rep you.

Do people honestly put that much stock in stupid sitcoms.
Do people honestly watch them and take them seriously.
