Economies of scale

You go more than that it’s not giving you more return than starting something new

This thread itself a 50% effort as I am keeping it simple

And probability says you give 50% to 2 things you get 75% success on getting at least one of the 2 things down, which ain’t bad

You secure a 50% chance on passing each of 2 exams, 75% odds you will only need to retake 1 part that’s not bad

Even if you secure a 30% chance of passing each of 2 exams you get better than a heads or tails you got at least one passed

If you have a 1% chance of getting a job you will have majority chance of getting a job after 69 applications.

One would respond, 'you can't make this stuff up' (especially when statistics are quoted), but apparently you can!

Like let’s see how it plays out in nature

Suppose there’s 2 viruses and they each have different vaccines but both viruses require 2 shots of the same vaccine for full Protection

Due to limited vaccinations available you can only get 2 total shots but can choose which ones

If you get 1 shot of virus 1 say you’re 52% protected but if you get 2 shots of virus 1 you are 95% protected

If you get 1 shot of virus 2 say you’re 60% protected but if you get 2 shots of virus 2 you are 95% protected

If you get the 2 shots of Virus 1 you are now 0% protected from virus 2 so if exposed to one you don’t know which it’s not even 50% chance you won’t get sick

If you just get 1 shot of each virus and screw getting 2nd shots you are better off as you have greater than 50% chance of being ok. Diminishing returns of same shot more than a threshold ...a little goes a long way

May I inquire who would want the virus?
I'll choose
C: the vaccine.

Employers pay us half of what we are worth so putting in half the work would be appropriate.

I worked in the private sector for 30 years then I retired and went to work for the federal government for 4 years. I had the misperception that the fed workers were the best and smartest but what I found was that the federal government only required 50% effort.

The way I know that the federal government had the smartest and the hardest working was they constantly told me that, but when I was in my private sector job and we hired a former government employee they only lasted lest then a year. Their complaint was that we were asking to much of them.

If we hired any one that only gave 50% effort they would get fired within 90 days, I saw it happen by the hundreds.
