I am thinking of getting one or more of these to extend the season on the patio. Does anyone have one and if so how effective are they? What size area will they heat? Is one enough or are two needed?

It all depends. How big is the patio? I have medium sized one. I haven't measured it...but it seems to heat up an are like 10x10. I don't ever get very cold though...so I don't even know why I bought it.

I'd have to cover about 12x20 so two seem to be the right number. I like the cold too, but the women in my life shiver and wrap up in blankets at anything under about 80. I've got a chiminea but its more for ambiance. You have to get pretty close to it to get much benefit.

We have a patio that is about 12x20 that has a roof over it and walls on 3 sides. We bought a tabletop propane heater at Paddock's and it does a good job, although we have only used it a couple of times.
