I heard something funny from a friend. A neighbor was sitting down to watch the Democratic debates, and at the very instant that it was about to start, her Cox cable went out. She's convinced it wasn't an accident. Have you heard of this from others?

What makes “your friend” so sure that there’s some wild conspiracy at play here?

OP, your neighbor has been watching too much political commentary on TV or has been out in the heat too much. Cox Communications is part of a family owned corporation based in Atlanta, GA. That corporation also owns many other media including the Atlanta Journal Constitution newspaper, the biggest newspaper in the southeastern US. If you read the editorials and articles in the AJC, you will see it is not a fanatical political propaganda piece by any means. Cox is a very environmentally progressive company also, with goals on CO2 reduction and energy reduction. They have very inclusive and progressive hiring and career advancement for employees. The conspiracy theory of your neighbor doesn't add up.

I don't know if it was Cox, but the only problem I had with it was everything stated was a lie.

It definitely happened and it was by design. Unfortunately, Bernie missed his cue promising free government cable to everyone who wanted it.

Nope. I streamed it live. With Cox Cable.

Several of us gathered at a neighbor's house (with Cox) to watch, and the reception was TERRIBLE, eventually to the point we had to turn it off, and they were Cox customers. Another member of the group had satellite, so we went over there and it was fine. However, interestingly, I'm a Cox customer, and when I got home and watched part of it that had been recorded, there was no interference at all.

We had issues with Cox during that debate. My recording failed and what you could see live was mostly unwatchable. Cox's website acknowledged an outage in my area. I brought up the MSNBC app on my phone and cast it to the TV, which worked fine. Ended up missing the first half but it was replayed a couple of hours later so I was able to record that.

It was just an outage. Please leave conspiracy theories to the wing nuts.

So you're saying the DNC didn't pay Cox for this outage in order to preserve the inroads the party has made in AZ?
