We moved here from DC - not quite as humid as FL, but pretty darn humid - and we had no problem acclimating. Yes, it's crazy hot. But it's so nice to have the sweat evaporate off you, rather then just stick on your skin and drip into your eyes. Blech!

And no, he wasn't warning you away from Gilbert. Gilbert is a great area

I don't think you'll have any problems. Just come here expecting that it'll be really hot so you're not surprised, bring lots of shorts (but be forewarned that every building you walk into will have the AC blasting, so you might want to bring pants too), and keep an open mind. Enjoy your visit!!

whatever you do , DO NOT fall for the dry heat versus wet heat ! just ask a chicken if it wants to be broiled or made into soup ?
not to worry though . if you make the move permanant you will get used to it .

Haha, South Phoenix these days means anything south of McDowell Rd down to South Mountain. In the city of Phoenix. Gilbert is not Phoenix.

This is so very true. I wear my contacts 24/7, but when I'm in AZ they have to come out every night.
