Flagstaff is my first choice. If I cannot head out then like the above post of DetroitN8V, I pick the Scottsdale Greenbelt. So green for sure! I worked a few months in Tampa Florida which is green and wet to the extreme. My neighborhood was grassy and HOA-like. there was a path that reminded me of the Scottsdale Greenbelt. I used to ride my bike way early in the morning with a digi lamp all year every other day, even on the coldest days in the 30s for the low. And even in the runoff of the monsoon. Now I live in Ahwatukee area.

My wife and I enjoy Sonoita. It seemed to be very green during the monsoon. There was tons of green grass and it felt comparatively lush relative to other parts of southern Arizona.

Mount Lemon is a good Choice. Up hwy 60 out of Apache Junction is good. Also most of the older Phoenix Neighborhoods look like a Mid Western Jungle.
