Well my house should close by early September and won't be able to close on the new one until mid to end of October.

I've been checking out PODS, Unit Storage, Ubox etc. Any feedback/suggestions on any of these services? Thanks.

I got a quote from pods and they were 2 1/2 times more expensive than u-haul. Lots of work, but a lot cheaper to move into climate controlled storage and move it again to the new house. The u-haul cost me $1000 for a 1000 mile trip, plus the gas $400. Pods quote for that distance with one month free storage was $5035. May be different going across town, but you can go to their web site, get a number and get a quote.

I found uBox to be the cheapest when I did it.

I also recommend climate controlled storage. You don't want anything remotely "meltable" in a pod. I'd even be leery of putting my wood furniture in one. That's almost 2 months and it will still be quite warm.

x3 on climate controlled storage. I went through the same decision two years ago. I opted for conventional storage. My home closed 2 additional months after they said it was. Slept on a friend's couch that entire time but I had access to all my things. Something I wouldn't have been able to do if I had opted for the other services.

5000 for a 1000 mile trip... they put three on a flatbedtrailer. Now that is what I call making money.

Storage won't cost you 4000 for a month.
Yeez.. you can buy a 53 ft trailer, used, for 5 grand.....

I remember getting an insanely high quote from Pods too. Not sure how they stay competitive that way.

Check out ABF's relocubes. When I got a quote from Pods, it was about $600 more expensive than ABF. However, I will say the Pods container is bigger than an ABF container. Worth checking out though, they were awesome to deal with and they have temperature controlled warehouses for storage.

This^^^^

It's also called U-Pack and exponentially less expensive than what you see advertised on television
