The biggest reason for going out so much is we work out of the home. A restaurant is an necessary escape. Additionally, I like to be served and not cook every meal I eat. I enjoying cooking and I do it non-stop. I've been told I'm pretty good at it. I suspect my wife cooks 2-5 times a year while I cook at least once a day. She doesn't like to do it while I enjoy it.

I'm trying to figure out what spots are worthy. Once I figure out the remaining puzzle (the good and the bad), I will be patronizing only the good ones. With that said, I pay close attention to the deals. Breakfast was $13 this morning for my wife and I after a $2.50 tip (we divided a huge breakfast). Lunch was on a boat on Lake Pleasant today. I'll be having some leftovers for dinner. That's a typical day (but not normally that cheap).
