Anybody have them? If so, who did your install and how much did it cost? I'm looking at installing some on my northwest facing patio. I would love to install some motorized ones that run on a track so I don't have to worry about wind, but unsure what the cost would be. Thanks in advance

Next time there is a home show, (March?) go to it and there will be a number of those places. Quick and easy one stop shopping for multiple quotes.

I know there used to be a place out at the Mesa swap meet on Signal Butte and Baseline that sold them too. Haven't been there in the last year so not sure if they are still there or not.

We had Sun City Awning do our patio. Extremely happy, never a problem and their price was best in town. A salesman named Pete was the one we dealt with, very polite, not pushy, very thorough in details and explanation. They give free estimates.

As a former motor home full-timer I watch the tv ads for retractable sunshades with some humor. What they don't mention is the wind factor. Most nicer motor homes have automatic awnings which have wind sensors for retraction on those breezy days. Otherwise wind will rip an awning off the motor home. I wonder if those house awnings would withstand any breeze. If you're thinking along these lines consider how much wind is in your neighborhood!

From the research I have done, the more expensive sun shades are built on a vertical track. Those types are the ones that can withstand 60 mph winds. Those are the ones I am interested in

I got mine from Arizona Sun Screens several years back. Don't really remember what I paid for them but they are the kind with a pole I crank to raise and lower them. Well worth the investment to block that low southern sun in the winter months while we enjoy the patio.

First bid came in @ 3250 for a 9ft high by 12 foot wide motorized sunshade on an aluminum track. Wow, wasn't expecting it that high.
