Very nice picture. I was surprised to see Arizona so green. Must've been a wet winter to be so green now.

That view will be greener in summer than it is now. The desert plants like creosote, mesquite and palo verde have lost most of their leaves and their green over the winter. They will explode with new growth, bright green foliage, and yellow flowers over the next few weeks. The green will continue through the summer though it will be less bright.

But I heard it's really brown in the desert and never green? I've also never visited but I bet it's true.

Hiking the mountains yesterday revealed lots of yellow wildflowers all over the place. This is the best time of the year in the Valley. Great photo!

The grasses in the desert are very opportunistic, and will sprout quickly with some rain. When the weather heats up in summer, the grass will dry up and be gone. The shrubbery and trees will stay green, but that will fade as we get further into summer.

Nice, I like my dry, brown desert with faded, muted greens
