Just south of the 101. North of W Yorkshire between 35th and 43rd. Is this a nice, safe, area to raise a family? I work from home so commute isn't an issue. Schools seem so so?

I don't know a lot about Glendale. Wife really likes Anthem and Tramonto.

Thank you in advance

I grew up right within those boundries. Area is ok, a bit older compared to areas to the north and west. Definitely not unsafe though and schools in the area are decent I believe (I went to Park Meadows Elementary, Deer Valley Middle School and Barry Goldwater High School).

I hate that saying. Also hate the term "man cave".

On a note related to the OP, the area you are talking about is actually in Phoenix, not N. Glendale...even though it has a Glendale address due to it's zip code.

The location you're referring to isn't Glendale ... it's north Phoenix/Deer Valley. Overall, not bad but there are some better areas. Have you looked into the Arrowhead area? That would truly be north Glendale, and I have been pretty impressed by what I've seen around there. It's not only a major shopping hub, but many of the developments around there are decent. Some are cookie cutter, but many others seem like they are of superior quality. Of course, you'll pay a little more for the better quality, but you often get what you pay for.

I'd recommend Arrowhead too except keep an eye on the traffic reports because it can be a commuter's headache during certain times of the day.
