Hi,

We are going, to explore the Phoenix Happy Valley area, to possibly live there. We'd like to know what the perimeters are north, south, east and west please. We greatly appreciate your help. Thank you.

I don't know that there are official prarameters. When I use that term, I'm thinking of the area within about a two to three mile radius of Happy Valley Road and I-17.

If you are looking for "nanny" work, as you've indicated in other threads, I'm not sure why you are focusing on that area, although you've asked about other parts of the Phoenix area in previous threads.

Interesting question, I had no idea there was such a place as Happy Valley here, other than the road of I-17 when I'm heading to/from the north country. I think it's really just a name built up by some of the master planned communities in the area, not any type of historical reference. You can't find a happy valley boundary map online or anything like that. But if you like that area I'd just focus on a 2-3 mile radius of I-17 and HPV road.

We use it to refer to the area west of I-17 and north of Happy Valley Rd. The neighborhoods are generally Stetson Valley, Stetson Estates, etc. Really nice area. It's too bad that when moving out here my job ended up being in Chandler because we REALLY wanted to live there! I think you were looking for apartments, there are some nice ones along the east side of I-17 and north of Happy Valley. One of them was called Las Colinas at Black Canyon, though I forget the rest.

It's nicely suburban out there. A bit farther to shopping and stuff than a place in Ahwatukee, but it also means it's pretty far from cool things like the Zoo and Desert Botanical Gardens and if you need to semi-frequent the airport.

Yeah, but it's closer to Sedona, Prescott, and the Grand Canyon.

There's that. It's also an easier drive to the Wildlife Zoo in Litchfield Park too. Might be closer, but definitely easier until the 202 extension through Ahwatukee gets finished.

I really don't think this area is prime territory for the "nanny" work you say you would be looking for in other threads. Is there some reason why you are focusing your search on this part of the Valley, though you have asked about several others?

My husband and I have only lived in AZ for several months. We are trying to explore all the areas that we can and see what we like the best. Thank you for your help.

I didn't realize you are already here. That makes a difference. What area are you living in now? Good luck in finding the right spot for you!
