People can get a job in a week in Phoenix? I'm used to fairly long drawn out processes where I live. I've always lived in Illinois so moving across the country is kind of scary, but I've always wanted to get out of here and go somewhere warm!

Not start in a week, but get a job offer yes. You can do background check and other pre-employment stuff back in Illinois.

Wow. I've been working for a contracting company that also has jobs in Arizona. I didn't think I wanted to try and get a job in Arizona with them though because those contracting jobs don't always last very long (although the one I have in Illinois has) and it seemed very risky for me to move across country and sell my house for a job that could be shut down in a matter of weeks. But from what I'm hearing here it seems maybe that would be the way to go if jobs are so easy to attain. To get a contract job I wouldn't have to interview in person.

I've heard Phoenix doesn't pay as well as where I live given the cost of living adjustment, so I'm concerned about finding a job that already pays less and won't offer any relocation benefits which would cost me a lot of money seeing that I would need to sell my house and move all my stuff at my own expense. I'm not putting on my resume or telling companies that I need relocation assistance. But in my mind I see it as something I really want. I'm trying to understand if this is realistic to get or not.
Real difficult for testers, unless you have something relatively unique to offer like deep experience with HP Loadrunner.

Yeah, I don't have that. I'd like to transition into more of a scrum master type position but my experience is all in testing.
