With $25-30 a day, that's more like $9,125 to $10,950 a year, if they are collecting 365 days a year, still not bad but nothing like the person who said they were making $200-300 a day.

Panhandlers can $182 an hour this is what I'm talking about.

That is totally insane.

People who make an honest living are having a hard time making ends meet and these scammers get their free bonus money and don't have to report it.

I wouldn't have a problem with it if they were really poor or hungry but most of them aren't, and people should stop giving them money.

All I have to offer is... Ignorance is bliss - truly.

The uninformed tend to be the most content... If/when you understand certain realities, it becomes extremely frustrating.

Having that been said... I can guarantee Phx (with its minor faults) is FAR better (hundreds of folds) than the land I came from.

Proud to be in Arizona!!! - freed from constraints of CA (those that have done it understand).

As for pan handling... Meh - they're like stray cats... Feed 'em and they'll always be there... Ignore them and they'll go away.

Funny how common sense works huh?... Frustrating though when ignorance bleeds into Freedom.

Don't feed their booze or drug addictions.
Finally somebody hit the nail in the head.

Most of these folks are addicts and professional beggars. Some work in packs too.

I see a lot of them on every intersection along McDowell Rd as well as at the end of drive-thrus. Some of them get rather pushy.

I believe AZ lawmakers passed a law prohibiting this kind of activity. I've only seen one cop arrest one woman who was begging in a rather dangerous spot.

Where is Mr Joe Arpaio when you need him to do something about this?

The increase in the homeless population is just a reflection of the population increase in general.
