ASU has $32M donated to the hockey program and also owns the land. I don't know the financial particulars but I would guess having ASU involved is actually a huge financial benefit to the Coyotes, as they have money earmarked for athletic facility construction/improvement.

I am in full support of anyone who wants to build stadiums on Arizona soil.
