Folks, help for a close family member needed!

New to the area and can't seem to find a doc who would deal with fibro. Any recommendations for doctors specializing in fibromyalgia treatment in East Valley?

I'm looking for a real MD (internist, neurologist, etc).

St Joseph's in Phoenix has some of the best neurologist in the country. Barrow at St Josephs is used to teach neurologist throughout the country and has a lot of the research going through there.

The route these days is to kind of divvy up the care; few doctors will write for pain meds other than pain specialists so you may end up seeing, say, a neurologist, a rheumatologist and a pain doctor to get your condition fully treated.

Barrow is the best in the state, I think, for neuro, but there will probably be a wait time before you can get in there and who knows, your insurance may require a referral. Some doctors/hospitals "believe" in fibro and others dismiss it so it's kind of a dice-roll picking one at random.

You can PM me if you want; most likely you'll have to try a few different doctors/places to find someone who works for you.
