I am ready to leave the cold. I am thinking of the Phoenix area. I have thought about L.A. I love the excitement and stimulation of that area. I like the geographical variety but I am beginning to think I may not be able to afford the lifestyle, financially, I am used to...divorce, ya know? Any thoughts on the East Coast to Desert cultural shock? Any thoughts on finding friends and a support system at the age of 57, although a very young 57? I like the idea that there are many young people moving to the Phoenix area. I do not want to be in an old age environment. I would love to hear from anyone about their thoughts and/or experiences. It does seem to be quite a big change but I can not take the heat anymore, and I do not want to deal with the humidity of the East Coast. My parents live in Florida...that's where all the old folks go and I am not ready to be one of them!!

Default Just Moved To Arizona

Hi There

I Was Born And Raised In Nj (essex County) Before Moving To West Palm Beach 15 Years Ago. Now I Relocated To Phoenix And Its Great. Very Affordable Compared To Florida And Nj (we Still Visit Jersey Once Per Year) We Moved Out Here Last August And Are Renting For One Year. Looking Around And Checking Out All Avenues Before We Purchase. If You Rent First, You Will Find The Rents Are Very Inexpensive/ We Are Renting A 1900 Sf Single Family 2 Years Old For $950 Per Month. We First Visited Here In The Summer Just To Experience "how Hot It Really Gets" And It Is Hot!
No Humidity Though, My Only Advice Is To Live Close To Where You Work The Traffic Here Is Something Else... Good Luck To You
