The place gets sprayed quarterly and has very, very few bugs. I know they are noisy and make a mess, but are the pigeons doing any good at all? I see them pecking at the ground---are they just picking up rocks and dropping them when they see it's not food?

Any positives at all to having these things roosting in our palm tree?

Thanks

all things have a place in the web of life- thank you for allowing them refuge in your backyard.

heres a good description of why--

https://www.quora.com/Birds-Why-do-we-need-pigeons

and they clean up weed seeds and trash and have allowed in many cities the comeback of the hawks and falcons (we had a hawk nesting ontop of my old workplace in the city raising chicks every spring - it was cool to see)....

Are they pigeons or one of the native dove species?

They may be picking at rocks/sand to get grit for their gizzards. Even with spraying there will be bugs around.

They fertilize and seed your property with life. Maybe stop spraying and let the pigeons do their thing, you're ruining our air.

The cats in our neighborhood have taken care of the pigeon over population around here.

Sometimes, though, people have more than a few pigeons. I saw a home for sale here in Phoenix that was infested with pigeons. They were countless and droppings were all over the property.

Landlord has it sprayed not my decision. I don't want life on the property anyway. Scorpions, recluses, devils thorns etc etc. no thank you.

As for your arrogant accusation that I'm ruining our air, get over yourself.
