What type of housing? There is everything from basic low end apartments to nice homes a few blocks south closer to Greenway.

I think you mean 8th Ave. & Bell Road. That is a nice middle-class area. Just about anywhere along the Bell Rd corridor will be fine. Lot's of shopping, dining, and amenities.
