I've toured Canta Mia with my parents and thought it was beautiful. The pool/clubhouse area feels like a resort. The drawback is probably that it is at the far end of Estrella, but if one doesn't need to commute, that might not matter a bit. It is smaller than many of the retirement communities, and the prices seem very reasonable.

Thank you for the response. Yes the smaller size will limit the activity options say compared to Pebble Creek or Sun City Grand. Golf is only 5 - 15 min. away depending on the courses. Pluses include nice mountain views, green landscaping and lakes, peaceful landscaped walking trails (not along streets), dog park, indoor pool, many racket courts, excellent fitness club, nice wine bar and patio overlooking the lake, and very cool contemporary interior design in the Club House and affordable homes. Retired so daily 20 min. commute to I10 is not a factor.

Perhaps I am missing something on this community. If there are specific drawbacks, I would be please to hear them.

Thank you

We looked hard at the area and have some wonderful friends who just moved to Estrella. We passed because the areas one drives thru to get there are exploding and the traffic time to the 10 looked like it would steadily increase.

Increased traffic density is certainly a given when any area is developed. There are 2 main roads into Estrella and as a retiree you can pick your times when to travel into the main Goodyear area for shopping. Main amenities are a mere 5 min. away at the local Estrella shopping center including Safeway, Chase Bank, an Urgent Care, Shell Station, veterinarian, and misc. restaurants. Thank you for your comments.
