This is about the demise of brick and mortar retail, the mall apocalypse and the virus pandemic. They're taking it to the internet since people are staying home and shopping on line.
Shopping for clothes online is a big hassle. There are always sizing issues and dealing with returns and exchanges feels like more of a chore than just going into a store in the first place. I know I’m in the minority here.

In fact, Nike has even stopped selling its products to Amazon to sell them on their behalf; all Nike products on Amazon now are sold by third-party sellers.

Nike is garbage and the governor is a hypocrite for wearing them. The downside, its a loss for Goodyear landing more jobs.

Why?

I love Nike Dri-Fit shirts. Practically live in them these days.

However, even before the pandemic Nike's athletic reliability took a hit when Zion's shoe tore. I thought that was bizarre. Jordan's shoes never tore. Is it because Nike is using different materials these days?

The shoe that I found to be ridiculously tough beyond expectations is Brooks. I bought one for road running on pavement, but it lasted about a year on Piestewa Peak's rugged trail. Most other shoes I had often break down on that mountain within a few months - even hiking boots. But shoes like the Brooks running brand somehow survive that dynamic stress despite not being designated as "trail running shoes". Maybe they should market basketball shoes to the NBA, NCAA and high schools.

To be fair, the Nike hiking/running boots of the 90s were very tough. The basketball shoes were too. I played with them a lot at ASU. Maybe the material has changed - lighter but weaker.
