Approx 3yrs ago, we had our in-ground pool liner replaced, because of cracks in the liner pattern, in our 15 x 30 in ground, vinyl liner pool. Our pool service company that we have used for liner replacements, changed liner manufactures, because he had several liners that had pattern cracks as ours did. Now, our present liner has had the color pattern almost completely bleached out below the waterline. We also hired a pool service to service our pool chemicals, weekly, since this last liner was installed. I previously, did the chemical service myself, but occasionally had a crust along the waterline, which would require cleaning off. I have not had any problems at all, since I’ve hired the new pool service. I have been told that our present pool service must not be balancing the chemicals properly, and that is causing the bleaching of the liner below the waterline, and that the liner will probably crack p retry soon. Has anyone else seen this bleaching out of their liner? We never experienced this previously, but then , this liner is from a different manufacturer, too.

I have a pool without a liner, so I don't know exactly. But bleaching sounds to me like possible high chlorine levels. If you're sure they are not excessive then you'd think the liner should be able to withstand normal chlorine levels. Could the sun also have an effect (UV fading)? Again, the liner should be designed to withstand it.

I guess color bleaching is only an appearance issue. As long as it's not affecting the longevity.
