I live in Tempe and have gone a few times to the Diamond Car Wash and they do an ok job, but they BUG.

Them: "Are you sure you don't want the wax, you want the wax"
Me: No I don't want it
Them: But you should get the wax, I'll offer you a deal...
Me: No

Them: You should have your carpets shampooed
Me: No thanks
Them: I'll offer you a deal.

I live in an apt so can't do it myself and hate with a monkey passion vacuuming the interior so I'll pay someone to do it.

Suggestions on places to go? I'm willing to drive a half hour.

I've been going to this place for years...they will occasionally offer the wax/wash deal but they are not pushy about it. I continue to go there even though I no longer live in the area.

I don't trust places like this with my car, many times I have found scratches and dents on my vehicle.

I understand living in apartments leaves you with less options to wash your car, but have you the self-service car washes? The ones where you pull in and there is the big power sprayer and brush? Those are cheap and work great.

I have to use these type of washes on my truck after a weekend of 4-wheeling, lots of mud caked to my truck to was of.

Try Los Olivos at 3rd/McDowell. They are full service, do everything by hand, have been there forever, and do a great job. If you get washes regularly you can even buy a yearly pass.

I remember when I was in AZ, we stopped at this place in Avondale. It was on McDowell. 99th Ave and McDowell, if I recall correctly. It seemed like a decent enough place. I can't remember the name of it though.

Wife had the car washed several times at Dannys Family, 20th street and Highland....never was "clean", bugs gone, windows free of smears, trash still under seats and alongside door/seat area. Such a bad job once, I took it back, spoke with manager, they "redid" it, still had bugs on the front of hood, smeared windows in front and trash on the floor. Back to the self serve thank you.
