Part-Time Flexible, which means they can work you anytime they want within the Tour assigned. If he is full time guaranteed then he's a FTR, Full-Time Regular, guaranteed 40 hours. But if he was hired in 08, he can be laid off. It seems to me that the post office is actually making a face-saving effort to not to lay people off so they don't look bad. USPS employees are always whining how much their jobs change, they have to go to a different shift, craft or even location, but as I see it, THEY STILL HAVE A JOB! I was on unemployment, laid off, for a few months right before I got the letter from the USPS telling me I have a job, so I remember how that felt and I still have an appreciation for my USPS job even though my co-workers, who are "protected employees" whine all the time on how lousy management is, how bad the decisions are. Then they tell me how a spouse, friend, other family member got laid off. I want to smack them in the head and say, STOP COMPLAINING and listen to yourself, you could be them!

Our OT got cut last week. We have Purdue University here and when the students are gone, we have less mail from them and at the same time the advertisers take a break. Then they all hit us again around Labor Day week.

So what is a monsoon, just a bunch of rain? How long per year does that last?
