You're lucky..... I can't even grow a weed. I think the dirt was too compact for the roots and the tomato plant went into shock. How much sun exposure? how much water? whats the dirt mix? what type of tomato plant?

Full sun just about all day...from 7am - 5pm. Water every two days, I'd say about 2 gallons per plant. The dirt is all store bought dirt, it's not mixed in with any AZ native soil, which I would say made the biggest difference. The tomatoes are Early Girl.

That's probably what it was, a lack of sun. From 7am to 12pm there is no sun, but from 12pm to 6pm there is. Guess i'll save growing for when im ready to buy my own place.

I have tomatoes and squash growing pretty good in my garden (the peppers and carrots not so much...). But mine aren't getting nearly as big as yours that quick, they seem to be growing very slowly..

Ps. Really nice Way to have a green thumb!

You need to till the dirt. I've grown corn, green onions, carrots, watermelon, and others right out of the phoenix ground with no special goodies. I think a tomato plant might not make it though...

Nice. Pretty inspiring. Can you point me to a site that has our growing seasons mapped out for us? (I know, I could google it)

Wow! Those look great. There is nothing like the smell of a warm, fresh picked tomato. The ones in the store are horrid. Even the expensive ones.

You should try watermellon. They are amazing plants. They grow so fast it's amazing and they taste wonderful.
