I heard that most people in Phoenix are pansies when it comes to dealing with significantly cooler weather.

I don't know what percentage of people are over the age of 40, but that would be it.

I am from Wash DC----------and, I hate cold weather. Being that Flag's winters are harsher yet..............no thanks. Bummer because the summers in the latter place are to 'die for'

Steve-O- It's not that we 'can't handle a little cold/snow' it's that we don't WANT to handle it. I, like many others here dealt with it for years and are just plain tired of freezing. I don't like chipping ice off of my car, etc. If you like it good for you, but there are some of us that find that we're much nicer people when we're not all bundled up freezing for months at a time.

Apparently pursuing what you want, and escaping conditions you found harsh and oppressive for a better lifestyle, such as I did, makes you a pansy.

The problem is some people cant handle a little bit of heat.

Hehe! That's how I feel NYtoPhx! I was amazed to move here and then hear almost everyone complain about the heat. Hello....??? This is the desert. They weren't kidding when they said it's gets up to 115+. Before I moved to town I sort of mentally prepared myself. Told myself that I was ready for the heat and would deal no matter what. On the first 110 degree day my air went out and it was over a weekend so we couldn't get anyone out for 4 days. I made it through with just a few fans and was so proud of myself!

Glad to hear I'm not the only one that enjoys the heat

To me adjusting to heat is both mental and psychological. You have to be able to embrace the heat, and you cannot be scared away by the thermometer. If you just dont listen to everybody complain and fall trap to excessive heat warnings, its not nearly as bad as you would believe. Up to 110 degrees, really didnt bother me much, and even 110+ really wont bother you, if you're not too active outside. The extremely hot temperatures also only last 2 months, from mid June-late August.

Well, seeing that 90% of them are from the mid and upper west, and east coast, and Canada I would think most would laugh at a winter in Flagg. I just don't think they would go. They've had enough!
