Well,to start
What are job prospects in construction industry in Phoenix?
Mostly for trades as bricklayer,tile setter,external plasterer,stone mason,painter?
As worker or as sole trader or LLC sole buisness LLC?
Most work inside,interior remodeler,repair,restore,rebuild?
As residental home improvement?
New high rise construction vs. small rise residental remodeling?
Just a tought.
I was also thinking of coming around Sunbelt/Deep south
On craiglist.com COULDN t beleive
I can rent apt/house 2 br for 300-355.$
Couldn t beleive.
It seems there are A LOTof jobs, too.
General labors and skilled trades
Found A LOTon craiglist.com compared with other areas where there isnt any job at all.
The wage are pretty the same around 10-15$,but with those low cost of living...
Hallelujah

well maybe I am wrong, but what do you think?
Idealist???

Thanks for any info.
Best reagrds,
Ben

Ben, construction is horrible right now. Why build new, when you can buy somethine already built for 40 cents on the Dollar? If you can invest; I would recommend buying and fixing up yourself. There is money to be made, and you will have a (dusty) place to live. Huge glut of wage labor. I've been approached a few times by people looking for work; none had business cards, but they were sincere.

I did not think I had the strength to respond. It is pretty flat here in construction, very flat. I would look to TX if you are wanting work. It will not loosen up until people start going back to work and the banks start lending again. What little work we have is private money and that is scarce as well.

I know the best all trade handyman on earth and he can't find work right now. Usually he is booked solid. People are saving their money. I wish the government would keep their mouth shut instead of issuing silly statements about what they are going to regulate next, it scares people.

kay,it goes slowly
but how about local unemployment in that particular construction trade as bricky, painter, tiler, exteriour or interiour remodeling,drywall...whatever.
And actually who got laid off?
Logicaly, company would keep the best one(with possible pay cuts, benigits cuts) and get rid of so-so workers.
And should one be killer specialist or multi skilled?I see a lot of ads for killer specialist who have to be
multiskilled.
That is okay a i.e. I am brickmsason,blockmason and stonemason,or drywall installer /painter/plasterer,
or plasterer/veneer brick/carpenter.
Those separated trade are logically connected. But to mix that with,HVAC,electrition,plumbing...add whatever you like freely ,you cant be wrong...
Hey electrition with plumbing with brick?Cant imagine that
current plus water plus brick?Should I add maybe cosmetitionto rise spirit of co-worker during launch time?
Yor are unemployment?
Obama did anything for construction or is the whole economy/world fully connected to look at that issue isolated?
I stay optimistic.

Best regards,
Ben

the work is in repairing houses that have been abandoned. Unions are a small sliver of the business right now. You sure don't see any union people at Home Depot. In LV, the unions were huge during the boom, now most re out of work, and if you don't have senority; you might be waiting a few decades to get back to work. Commercial is hurting almost worse than residential (and its prospects look worse), and that's where you would be more likely to find the Union people.
