Last year our garage was full and only fit one car, so my car was left outside in the heat and my built in cup holder melted into the dashboard and now it's stuck in there and I can't use it.

I agree the steering wheel thing really gets me too, I made sure I had a steering wheel cover and that took care of that.

Wow...

I walk outside in a tshirt when its 35F.

I like the feeling of cold on my skin.

This past winter, one morning got to 8F, and I was skipping along and giggling like a schoolgirl. LOL.

I love cold.

You know when it's summer and you are in Phoenix when:

1. You go outside to cool off at night and notice ----it's still hot!
2. You go into your car during the day and notice your pen you left on the passenger seat has melted.
3. You go to the pool and have to leave your sandles on until you walk into the water.
4. You crave to feel cold again ---- hey let's hang out at the ice den.

You know it's summer in Phoenix when you're actually looking forward to visiting out-of-state relatives.

I'm curious to see how you like it come July/August. One of the things keeping me in the PHX area even though I long for a change is fear of humidity. I've become a real humidiphobe from my trips to the east in summer. Maybe one adjusts, but I'd like to hear of your experience as a long-time zonie transplant later this summer.

Anyway, a sure sign of Phoenix heat is when unopened soda cans left in your car explode.

I can't wait to experience all of these! I saw a similar list from the Buffalo area concerning the cold and snow.

I heard stories about people like you...I thought they were fairy tales. I drove a black Mustang with a dark interior for years. I loved the feeling of climbing inside about 1:00 in the afternoon in late June. I don't know if the cheap little temp gauge I had was accurate, but it often was in the 150-160 degree range. There is nothin' like a little warmth to make you feel alive.

Just experienced this yesterday...
The library places a sticker on your book asking you not to leave library materials in the heat!

I think we forgot the one most notable trait about Phoenix that definitely describes it best in the summer:

If you can fry an egg on the sidewalk, you know you're in Phoenix.
