PHOENIX -- Job hunters turned out in the hundreds to fill recently-vacant positions at Pro's Ranch Market stores, where a federal audit led to the firing of some 300 workers.

Hmm? I thought illegals were only doing work the legals didn't want to do.

Default Great news

Maybe the rest of the country will follow suit. Illegal immigrants are displacing qualified Americans. Companies who hire these illegals should be severely fined as well.

Kudos to AZ. Time to give "illegal" some serious bite and this is a step in the right direction.

Love this part....

"We heard they are firing a lot of illegal people, so we're here to apply."

About 300 of the 1,500 total employees at the six Phoenix supermarkets were let go this week after an Immigration and Customs Enforcement audit found them to be working illegally.

Firing and audit...don't work together, but I sure wish they would do more of this

Now tell tell me...how could they not know somehow 300 people were illegal....right....

I am not surprised, I have never believed the whole "illegals do the jobs we don't want" claim and this just cofirms my beliefs.

No that was probably was American-born citizens versus legals versus illegals...I remember years ago (guessing 8-10) Bailey Nurseries in Newport MN was busted by INS and they took busloads out...they had to go cross-country...This is by no means a new issue....Hopefully the feds keep up the work and go for more employers...I would like to see them get the private citizens that hire the illegals also....

So now we have 300 illegal aliens with no income roaming the streets. A sure fire way to increase the crime rate in the valley. They should have arrested and deported them since they now know who they are and where to find them.

I believe they were deported since it was ICE who arrested them.

It will be a sad day when I have to compete with an illegal for a job. Thank God I went to college and earned a degree.
