These are pictures of last years tree and ornaments. Too much has happened this last year and this month and I did not feel like having a tree or lights.
Okay, still a novice here. I just got my highly coveted tripod for Christmas! woohooo. This is one of my first photos with the tripod.
Beautiful photo.
Hoosier, you're sure you're not my twin or something? LOL! I also got a tripod this Christmas and the photos below are from one of my first sessions with it...
Since we've done a Christmas tree one, here is one for ornaments. Tell us a brief history of the ornament if you have one attached to it. I'm having sooo much fun now that I've gotten back into my photography...and I owe it all to this forum for bringing this love back. And of course my new tripod!
This ornament is one that I bought my wife three years ago when her mom got sick the day after Christmas and passed away 10 days later. She was only 62. This is memory of her.
My wife and I are big into ornaments that have meaning in our lives. We buy a special ornament for both kids and ourselves every Christmas. One day each child will get to take their special ornaments with them to decorate their own tree. This ornament was purchased a few years ago at a christian bookstore in Washington state. It reminded us so much of creation acknowledging Christ's birth. Yeah, a bit deep here. The other reason...we thought it was cute, cute, cute!! Note the words on the bottom of the ornament.
I took a trip out to seven falls tonight. I heard they have Christmas lights up during the holidays. I went to check them out. Turns out their lighting display is pretty disappointing. Everything was spread out, no area with a good amount of lights. I did get a few shots. It was certainly a challenging environment to shoot in.
Same shot as above, but zoomed in and out during the exposure to create the blur
The problem is that the only way to make them not blurry is to use flash, but then the lights don't really shine correctly. Some of these I used the auto (flash) and some I used the ISO (not flash). I hope they're okay. Any tips on how to take pics of light without them being blurry?
