The dpi is irrelevant but I think it would be better if you just stated one max dimension. Say 640 on the long side. This would allow for various presentation options like portrait or landscape as well as square. I'd also cap the physical size of the file. Something like 150k or 200k. Just for quicker loading.
OK.
I really don't have issue with the size (dimensions) after thinking about it. Not too long ago the 'powers that be' here installed a plug-in to the forum software that automatically resizes the images. While I personally prefer an 800x600 or so image, I think the forum software will help keep sizing fairly consistent.
As far as file size, I agree and if possible files should be limited to say 400K, that OK?

There's no restrictions on your photos. Just a holiday theme for this particular contest. And welcome to the forum!
When will our pictures be due? Do we direct message them or post them in a new thread when the time comes?
You'll post them in the new thread.
As far as when they are due, that's another good question.
Hmmm.
Well, we need to be fair and make sure everyone has the same exposure.
If I start the new thread and someone can post early in the morning and someone else can't post until late afternoon, that gives that persona full day of being the only choice.....

I have a thought, let me get back to you.....
I would recommend posting a message saying "The thread will be open from 8am on this day, to 8am on this day." Or pick whatever time. but keep it open for at least 24 hours and then close it. People can hit that time span whenever if they plan for it. If they don't make it, well, they can plan on the next one. It's not like we'll only have one.
