Wide field Milky Way shot taken in March in Moab, Utah.
The galactic center of the galaxy can be seen in the very bright region, which is about 30,000 light years away. The cluster of stars in the dark band just off center I "believe" is the Sagittarius star cluster. A dense globular cluster of about 70,000 stars at a distance of 10,600 light years.
The bright green star just top-right of the center is the supergiant star Antares, 883 times larger than our own sun. If you follow Antares almost straight up slightly, the next bright object is Saturn.
