I know, a spider's not an insect. It's an arachnid. Creepy, anyway. Harmless wolf spider, though.

While walking in the woods this weekend i came across this log which was the home of these big Ants.

I don't usually go looking for insects to take pictures of but at the same time, I've run in the house more than once to get the camera to take some.

Here are the ones I've taken the last year or two.
