Does that price tag say $7999...... as in EIGHT THOUSAND DOLLARS?????
Whoa.
Its probably 8 grand w/o a lens! Theyre super expensive, but untouched as far as digital SLRs go. I toyed around with the MKII version and couldnt put it down. It was 6K w/o a lens, ON SALE! You should have heard that thing on burst mode, sounded like a machine gun! lol Id give my left leg for that camera...

I know of this professional photographer who was all in a twit when customers starting wanting the "instant"-digital-hurry-up photography (her words when eyeing the cost!!!), & she had to buy digital equipment. She didn't like it that much to begin with, and said prices go higher than that for professional stuff .
Some hobby!!!

Reason: add info
She won't buy it....She's a Nikon girl through and through.....
Vous me connaissez ne font pas bien trop bien vous ?
(you know me all too well don't you?)
You all know he's right, I won't buy it, but I'll drool like hell until Nikon brings out something comparable....the D3 is just NOT what I want....I want that damned big block 21 mp under the hood!
If it were not for the fact that I am HOOKED absolutely HOOKED on Nikon's optics, I would seriously consider doing it.....but I've got too much tied up in glass for Nikon, that it would not be worth my while to change out....
I just let the big boys (Canon and Nikon) compete and top each other every year or two. Why buying an expensive toy that will become "old" two years later. Well, if you are a professional photographer and can deduct the camera as a business expense in your taxes, then it would not matter.
