Husbands childhood home (1983-2000).. built sometime between 1870-1880. This photo was taking in 2004, the last time we saw the house. It burnt down 2 years ago. At the time they moved in it had all original interior including the wood burning stove that his mother cooked on until they moved. They had to heat the house by wood only and spend the first winter (in northern Maine) in one room with a heater while trying to install insulation in the house.

here it is in its better day..well what it would have looked like while lived in..

I like that black and white photo of the old house. Imagine living in N. Maine in one room with a heater.

The old photo looks really "homey." Must have been a great place for your husband to grow up in.

It was very beautiful at one time, a very New England way of growing up. They were 15 mins south of Canada. The trees you see are apple blossom trees so in the spring they all bloomed. It was rightly called Apple Blossom Farm.

Thanks for sharing this. Seeing all those flashbulbs brought back a lot of memories from growing up and learning how to use my first camera.

Photos taken in London, 1967.

Trafalgar Square.

10, Downing Street; the Prime Minister's residence. The street is barred to the public now as far as I'm aware.

Piccadilly Circus. 'The Great Escape' was showing but was released in 1963 so maybe I've got the year wrong and it was 1965.

Groovy cars!

Nelson's Column.

Are those cranes in the distance? All long gone.

A Beefeater at the Tower of London.
