Did you try the suggestion by Draconiator to turn off the Vivid setting? That sounds like it has promise.

You could always just adjust it in Photoshop or whatever photo editing program you have.

Don't have Photoshop but appreciate the suggestions on tweeking certain settings. Right now I'm using a friend's camera to shoot reds. When he leaves (with his camera) I'll play around with mine a bit more. It's important I get the red correct because it's for photographing red clothing items I sell like jackets and sweaters.

To the OP and Draconiator: Taking a look at EXIF data on Draconiator's photo, I'm seeing this:

Exposure:Auto exposure, Program AE, 1/60 sec, f/4.8, ISO 100
Flash:Auto, Fired, Red-eye reduction

Take off the red-eye reduction and you should get the reds you are looking for.
