I am going to go out on a limb here and assume that a Sunday afternoon or early evening would be the most likely time for the majority of us to be available. I know some attend worship services on Sunday mornings or Saturday afternoons/evenings. Many are somewhat tired on Friday evenings from a long week at work. I'm also going to think that many will be somewhat busy in these next few weeks approaching Christmas and New Year's Eve. As such I'm going to have us choose from a Sunday afternoon/early evening in January. As of January 1, 2011 I will tally up the votes and make arrangements for us to meet at the date and place that wins in both polls.

Yeah. I'm thinking the meet-and-greet is a pretty bad idea judging by the lack of interest. Strangers in Pittsburgh aren't interested in meeting others I suppose. Meh. No biggie. It was a nice idea.

I wouldn't give up on it yet. I haven't voted because I just don't know which Sunday in January I might want to hang out. And I guess I'd rather know where before thinking about when.

Football is a complete non-issue for me. Lots of places are kind of empty during football games, so a game day might work out well.

Many folks like to remain anonymous, one reason for usernames on these forums, although some I guess actually use their real ones too.

Yup. I've always felt it necessary to remain anonymous on the internet. When you're sharing your ideas and opinions with others, many folks won't agree with them. That already sets you up for potentially bad situations with all the goof balls out there.

Granted, I'm very polite with strangers and will always smile and say please and thank you. But then again they might treat me a little different if they know my political values and such. Know what I'm saying?

Some n00b doesn't want to go and you give up already?

I mean, I don't leave the house, but some people might.

I suppose I just never realized indicating a weekend you might be free in January or what restaurants, if any, appealed to you were synonymous with someone gleaning your political ideologies or surrendering your anonymity to your own detriment. Given the propensity for my enemies on other forums to stalk me around and screw things up for me I just had a bad feeling many non-Pittsburghers would vote "just for the hell of it" to skew results just to mess with me.

With roughly 150 "views" between both threads and little, if any, input via voting or conversation I think that's already a clear indicator that interest would be light.
