My son is attending ITT Tech at Greentree, PA...What I would like to know from you good people is where do we find him a place to live that you DO NOT have to make $30,000 a year? How do students in the Pittsburgh area find some where to live with this requirement? Is every where like this? My son is working while attending school, but still can't earn that kind of wage (at least not until after graduation)...Any one that can help us I would really appreciate it.. Thanks confused mom...

There are a ton of apts nearby, Greentree, Dormont, Crafton, well within a 500/month range. Do some leg work.

Have they ever considered a roommate? That seems to be the norm for college living in the city.

First of all, I strongly advise that your son not go to ITT Tech. It is a for-profit diploma mill that takes your money, barely teaches anything and then spits you out with little regard. I know several people who went there and they never got jobs in their respective fields. For-profit schools are scams. Second of all, there are a ton of places in the South Hills with fairly cheap rents. He might have to get a roommate though. Craigslist is your friend.

Not sure what your financial situation, but if you are here for school, you are not working. Is it possible to have your parents along with yourself guarantee pay 1 year in advance? Trust me, when I was a landlord in that area, I'd take that in a heartbeat.
