I just moved here from Chicago where I was lucky enough to have a local tavern that felt a bit like Cheers. I could go in by myself and not be harassed, the beer was cheap and the scene was unpretentious.

Now that I am here, I am hoping to find something similar. Any suggestions? I live in Lawrenceville and would prefer something in the Lawrenceville/Bloomfield area, but I am not opposed to traveling for a good spot.

Try Nico's Recovery Room on Friendship. It gets really crowded the night they do Karaoke, but it sounds like it could be what you're looking for otherwise.

Oh heck, I just realized your name is Karaoke_queen, so definitely try Nico's!
