It is disappointing to see Carlynton so far down the list (though 255 is firmly in the middle of the state rankings....hardly lower tier).

Just need to pipe in with my regular annoying pro-PPS nagging.

The fact is that judging "Pittsburgh" as one monolithic school district is deceptive and kind of senseless. Obviously there are deeply troubled schools within the city...but putting a bunch of school "districts" that consist of one high school against one that consists of 10 makes little sense, and fails to speak to the vastly broad range of quality within the PPS district.

Guess this only reinforces my wife's position and what I have known all along, probably should move a few miles to get within Norwin, Penn Trafford or Franklin Regional school districts.

Wow. I graduated from Baldwin and had no idea the school district was that bad. Granted I don't know how it ranked the year I graduated but I felt like I received a decent, if not good, education.

I guess a lot can change in 11 years.
