The Port Authority has been saying they will be making more cuts. Either someone was upset over this, or they misunderstood what the P.A. meant.

When was the last time this happened. Someone cleaning toilets in a park can get raped, should they be making $70+K a year too and have pensions that rival school teachers?

Or crossing-guards that protect our children while crossing the street. If they get hit by a car should they get 70k +pensions? Or maybe that intramural football player from Gateway who was shot in NC deserved 70k. The lesson here is simple: The world sucks and is dangerous. Anything can happen to anyone at anytime. We can't re-legislate the entire state everytime 1 tragedy happens. 1 incident does not constitute a trend. Put the knucklehead under the jail and have drivers rely more on the police.

Yes all PAT drivers should be making 8$ an hr and struggling like everyone else.

You guys are determined to blame PAT's crisis on Current Port Authority Drivers, when its been stated over and over again that Current Employee pay is not the source of the problem...But that goes in one ear and out the other with you guys.

If you could find competent drivers willing to work at that rate then absolutely yes

Actually I suspect the world is the safest it has ever been per capita. I mean there are lots of people in the world and some crazy things happen, but I think times are excellent right now and we are very lucky. If people didn't fall for the fear mongering idiots and the hyped up media and just looked around themselves and lived that way, I think you would find most to be very happy. How can you not be. Times are great for Pittsburgh!

I am sure you can pay $15 and hour and have tons of people willing to work for that. At $20 an hour people would be lining up for the chance and maybe fighting in line. I have been to a cattle call for a UPS driver job that was $12 and hour for holiday or something like that. The line was a mile long.

The amount of tough-guy posturing on threads like this is always good for a laugh. Thanks, everyone!
