About the same. Maybe one more black person. It is overwhelmingly white with almost 92%. That is almost the same kind of numbers as Springdale.

Sorry, I couldn't resist. It does have an interesting demographic though. I am sure it would be a relaxing place to live until you have to shop. Not a fan of the shopping districts in the north hills.

The racial makeup of the township was 94.58% White, 1.29% African American, 0.05% Native American, 3.19% Asian, 0.01% Pacific Islander, 0.14% from other races, and 0.74% from two or more races. Hispanics or Latinos of any race were 0.70% of the population.
Actually with respect to taxes, it has the third lowest tax rate in Allegheny County according to the article.

Oh really. The average home price in McCandless is $193K. Taxes are about $2550 per $100K of value. Glad I understand millage rates, because that come out to be around $5K a year in TAX for the average home.

Yeah, but it's worth it, especially the schools. Still cheaper than Shaler, Hampton, and Mt. Lebo, where would you rather live?

It is a little cheaper than the areas you mention. Hampton is a very nice little area and I always liked it. Pretty high taxes. Mt. Lebo, I like better than any of the choices because I live the downtown area.

It probably is worth it if you want to live in our region. School taxes in all districts are amazingly high.

Does it really matter where you live, as long as you like it? I loved living in the Dormont-Mt.Lebo area some 20 years, grab the T, walk to Cain's, attend concerts at the South Hills Theater. Now I enjoy hiking and biking in North Park, which is walkable to me. To each his own.

No need for a question mark on that sentence. It is just a fact. I have lived on the edge of Larimer and East Liberty and liked it fine. Lived on very nice streets in Fox Chapel and liked it. Lived in Oakmont, liked it. Sharpsburg, was okay. North Miami? Not so much.
