They haven't won every battle but they have done an enormous amount of good, so it is nice to see them getting some recognition:

Their latest set of projects Downtown is really exciting, with that one block on Wood south of Forbes in particular having enormous potential. Of course, I am still wondering what is going on with the new PNC Tower and the facades around the corner on Forbes--to me the renovations around Market Square, Point Park University, and now along Wood are even more building the case for preserving those facades as part of a greater historic district.

But I think Point State Park was a good idea. Although I'd prefer it was a county park rather than state. Ideally, the Point needs to be linked up with other parks and "green" the shorelines into one big green necklace. More and easier access to the Point would help and I believe commuter lines around the county leading into downtown will make downtown and the Point week-end destinations (and even week day) for simple leisure time.

In my ideal world Point State Park would just be on the other side of the overpass (actually, in my ideal world that highway would be a tunnel not an overpass), but in general a park at the point isn't a bad idea.

Incidentally, that "green necklace" idea is in fact in process, and it is called Three Rivers Park:
