Does anyone know of any decent apartments around Dormont/Mt. Lebanon? The apt options do seem a little limited in Pittsburgh if you want to live in a decent part of town. I don't really want to pay 1k a month that's over double what I pay now...and I live in a nice area with walkable streets.

pittsburgh apts/housing for rent classifieds "Mt. Lebanon" - craigslist

Mt. Lebanon surprisingly has a decent amount of apartments for rent and the majority of them are decent to nice. I would check them out before anything though. Places such as Oakland, Shadyside, and Squirrel Hill would be the most difficult places to find reasonably priced apartments that I can think of

The lack of decent apartment options is a another direct result of the steel bust and population exodus that followed.

I would think that new apartments would be the last thing to get built, when all of the people leaving allowed for vacant houses to be easily converted into apartments instead.
