Hello everyone, I just wanted to drop by and say that Pittsburgh is an amazing city. I went to Pittsburgh for a few days to visit some friends and let me say, it was one of the most fantastic cities I've ever been too. The last time I was there was in the late 80s and it was dirty, gross, and the people were somewhat hostile. I was dreading coming back. But when I did, I was greeted with a clean, friendly city. The downtown is greatly revitalized and you guys showed you really care about your city through this rebirth of a city that was once manufacturing based. I hope Detroit does to same soon and I believe Cleveland is the midst of doing the same.

Good job, my friends

The city really has come a long way in the last 25 years, and there's finally a general sense in the region that the worst is over. This should help in the future as Pittsburgh evolves. Civic pride is what prevented the city from dying. There are still some deep-seeded problems, but things are nowhere near as dire as they were even 10 years ago, let alone 20 or 25.

Cleveland's attitude right now seems to be about where Pittsburgh's was 10 years ago, so while things are beginning to improve there, they need to make sure that the eternal pessimists don't ruin it all. Detroit right now is bottoming out, so if you want to make a long-term investment, then invest in some property on the fringes of downtown Detroit. You'll hit paydirt 20 to 25 years from now.

Glad you enjoyed Pittsburgh the second time around. Come back sometime.

I'm glad you enjoyed your visit to here. Pittsburgh has changed a lot for the better since the late 80's.

You're welcome back anytime! And yeah I think in 10-20 years the rust belt as a whole is really going to make a serious comeback. Pittsburgh is well on track already, but Buffalo, Cleveland, and Detroit will all once again reemerge as major players in the US because they all have numerous assets compared to the sun belt -- infrastructure is already in place for an additional couple of million people spread out between all of the various rust belt cities, and we have WATER! Plus I think the whole suburbia/rust belt craze is finally starting to decrease a bit.

Pittsburgh is a very cool city. I also had a great visit there last summer, and think about the city often.
