Incidentally, as I mentioned before, other data sources also suggested that Fox Chapel had seen less appreciation than most of the other munis in the school district (although interestingly, the data I was looking at had Blawnox up more than Sharpsburg, and the reassessment has that reversed).

I'm getting 28.5% for the Fox Chapel School District overall.

By the way, as a casual reminder of something we have discussed many, many times before, school district are limited to their annual Act 1 Index increase.
Here is the last three year tax increases by the school. They raise them every single year and always will.

Millage Rates in Fox Chapel Borough

School District:
20.7800
21.2600
21.5576

Having said that, I think the aggregate change in assessments for FC is going to be about 25%. My guess for the new FC millage rates is 2.0 for the muni and 23 for the school district**. We'll see how things actually turn out. . .
**Error. 23 was my estimate for the total millage rate (muni + county + SD) for FC residents. My SD estimate was 18.

Anyway, this seems like a good time to update these numbers. Here are my revised millage estimates:

County -- 4.43
Fox Chapel Muni -- 2.07
Fox Chapel SD -- 17.62

Total 24.12.

Thanks. I talked to that reporter. He fails to mention that the school district takes people to court, but he won't print it unless the district or solicitor says it on record. They are going after FC residents like we are getting away with something and everyone else is getting crushed. Without knowing the real story, it looks that way, but not everywhere they have a school district challenging assessments all the time. Ah well, typical.

That may well be true, but if you look at the amount of those increases I think you will find they don't exceed FCSD's Act 1 Index amount for the relevant years.

If you would like to hand me title to that property, I will gladly figure out how to deal with the tax bill.

If it comes with the $3-4 Million dollar salary that one would likely need to buy it, then I'll take it. The $150k tax bill would be little more than one bimonthly paycheck.

Good luck.

I am sure he will get that lowered. How can you even compare that property to anything?

Here is another one. IMHO, it might actually be worth more, but I'll be the taxes are about nothing. Why? It is a farm???? Nice!

Incidentally, it looks like that home belongs to Chip Ganassi. I'm sure he's not hurting to pay his property taxes.
